Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's Wedding Celebrations Included a Legit Dance Competition

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra went above and beyond for their lavish December 1 nuptials. But there was one particular aspect of their big day that truly outdid the rest.

On Sunday morning, Chopra shared a shot of pre-wedding traditional Indian Sangeet party in the actress's native country. For the celebration, the bride and groom split their families up into two teams that wore traditional Indian outfits. Each team competed by re-enacting through dance their interpretation of how the bride and groom met. The spectacle looked straight out of a Dancing With the Stars episode.

"It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love," Priyanka wrote in a caption on Instagram, alongside a video of the competition. "Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual… and to see what each side had put together."

"And what a performance it was," she said. "Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. It is an amazing start to a lifetime of togetherness for our families and friends… #grateful @nickjonas."

The groom shared a similar video to social media, thanking his family and friends for their attendance during the big day.

"Priyanka and I have been looking forward to the Sangeet (the musical evening and a pre-wedding ritual) to see what each side of the family had put together," Jonas wrote in a caption. "We're both so full of gratitude for the effort and the love put forth by both families. What an amazing start to a lifetime!! @priyankachopra"

The bride wore a stunning gold and silver Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari to the Sangeet, while her groom donned a dark blue sherwani, also by Kholsa Jani. He later is seen in photos wearing a blue bandh gala silk kurta, a matching jacket and silver pants. The groom's brother, Joe Jonas, performed a song during the show, and the bride's family was featured in plenty of the coordinated dances.
